Chris was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. In addition to earning a black belt at the age of 17, he worked his way through public school by manning the cash register at a local McDonalds. His very first attempt at standup comedy was in front of a J.C. Penney, at a mall talent show. Unfortunately, he lost to a saxophone player.

Then Iin 2001, just three years into comedy, Chris became a finalist in the San Francisco Comedy Competition. In 2004, He moved to New York City, for its stage time and development possibilites. Where else in the world would he be able to stand severe humiliation night after night in complete anonymity?
