Performing stand up since 1995, Kris has created a whirlwind of
excitement that is both crowd pleasing and hilariously entertaining.
A native of the great state of Texas, Kris moved west to pursue
an acting career. While attending the University of California
in Los Angeles to study film, Kris was accepted into the prestigious
Stella Adler Theatre where he honed his acting technique under
some of the countries top thespians. After joining the famed Los
Angeles Groundlings comedy-improvisational troupe, Kris began
attracting attention. It was in a chance encounter with his voice
coach’s son, writer-director Gary Ross (Big, Dave, and Pleasantville)
who witnessed his natural ability to captivate an audience and
persuaded him to try his hand in the world of stand up comedy.
With a shot
of courage and a whole lot of chutzpa, Kris made his way to the
legendary Sunset Strip, home of the World Famous Laugh Factory
and The Comedy Store. On one Saturday night, Kris got a once and
in a lifetime chance to prove his comedy chops on stage at The
Laugh Factory in Hollywood.
Sandwiched
in between surprise guest Rodney Dangerfield and funny man Howie
Mandel, and armed with antidotes about his family and growing
up Catholic, Kris was spotted by the clubs legendary owner Jamie
Masada and became a regular at this Hollywood landmark. Where
it normally takes years for a comedian to break into such a legendary
comedy venue, Kris did it after one performance.
Since then,
Kris has performed comedy in some of the biggest clubs in America.
He has worked along side such comedic giants as Rodney Dangerfield
and Jerry Seinfeld to George Lopez and Paul Rodriguez. Kris has
also been featured in such movies as Jim Carrey’s Man on
the Moon and in the upcoming A Force of One with Gary Busey and
Sean Young. He has appeared on the television shows, FX’s
Conspiracy Zone with Kevin Nealon, MUN2's Loco Comedy Jam and
featured on NBC’s Urban Latino Magazine, ABC’s Eye
on LA, Vista LA, and MUN2’s Off the Roof. And starting
in September of 2003, Kris will be the comedy VJ on the LATV network
show LATV LIVE, broadcasting to over 6 million homes across Southern
California. He has even ventured into radio appearing several
times on L.A.'s number one rated radio program Rick Dee's In The
Morning on 102.7 KIIS F.M.
Kris also
hosts the hottest and most successful Latino comedy show in America,
Latino Nights at The World Famous Laugh Factory in Hollywood.
Showcasing some of the biggest names in comedy like Paul Rodriguez
and George Lopez, Kris has created a one of a kind show that consistently
sells out, week after week, with standing room only crowds. With
his infectious personality and enthusiasm he displays on stage,
Kris’s Latino Nights brings not only Latinos but Whites,
Blacks, and Asians together in a multicultural comedy explosion
that has the audiences howling with laughter and keeps them coming
back for more.
